I would expect the emulated HP COBOL compiler (and also the various
other HP supplied compilers) to generate PA-RISC code that could then
be run by the emulator as well.

A slightly related question... I wonder if HP would be willing to
sell and support the compilers for the OpenMPE platform (instead of
open-sourcing them)?
