They, the law firm, simply declare a conflict of interest.  In the case of
forensic accountants, we went thru all but one of the big 6 before we found
one (KPMG) that hadn't dealt with Carolian/Delrina/Symantec.

Trust me, it can happen to even the nicest of people (and in the process
leave them less nice than they were originally).
