Greetings

The POSIX sort command allows sorting based on fields.
I am trying to figure out if I can specify sort keys by physical
position in the POSIX sort utility.
The man page only mentions the -k option (by field, position).
Surely it must be possible to specify keys by actual byte position and
length?

As always, all help greatly appreciated.
