Attempting to measure the life of rechargeable batteries in calendar time is
not too meaningful, since it depends completely on how they are used and
treated. Li-Ion batteries are nominally good for 400 cycles, as are NiMH
batteries; their memory-effect-prone NiCd brothers are good for about 500
cycles.
