You may not need either IF (big if) your are not using any
application or system tools that require block mode.  Try this:

1.  From your Windows terminal bring up the MS utility called
"terminal".  You should now be able to sign on the the 3000.

2.  I can and I dial in.

Remembe, though, that NO block mode program will work.
