Well, you knew I would mention Perl anyway, didn't you?  ;-)

The PERL LWP module makes it fairly easy to write Perl scripts that behave just
like web browsers.  A long time ago I used LWP (on an HPUX machine) to interact
with another web site where I had to HTTP POST stuff to a CGI form.  LWP should
work just fine on MPE.
