Jim,

As you know, while VB has some object constructs it really does not fall
into the object oriented realm.  Most of the OODBMS interface with C++ or
Java.  The two that have been around for some time are Poet (www.poet.com)
and Versant (www.versant.com).  I don't think you'll find anything real
tight with VB though.  That said, there have been several efforts that
convert Java objects to text files for use over HTTP.  You could have your
VB program used a Java proxy to persist your data to disk and back.  I
believe this was one of the forces behind Simple Object Access Protocol
(SOAP) too.  You can get more information on SOAP at www.microsoft.com.
