I had occasion last night to ssh to my bastion host and established a
vt connection to an HP3000 to do some minor editing. I use QEDIT
usually in VI mode and discovered that freevt3k does not, in its
default configuration, do much in the way of BLOCK MODE support. Is
there a way to configure freevt3k to support QEDIT vi mode, and
presumably other BLOCK mode applications? If so then how does one do
this and if not are there Linux alternatives (besides Minisoft's
Javelin) that do?

Sorry about these recent displays of fearful ignorance, but getting
ready to move off something seems almost as much work as trying to
get on to it in the first instance. There is much about the HP3000
that I have forgotten, if indeed I ever knew.

Regards,
Jim
