Hi Folks,

Yes my subject is correct this is not just the end of the HP 3000 it is the end of HP. I think that HP has made the wrong decision. Instead if extolling the virtues of MPE they decided to bury it. There is great virtue in being different. One thing we in the computer field know well is one size does not fit all.

Does HP really think that brand loyalty will convert all 3000 sites to them. Think again. once you are forced to convert to a new system all bets are off.

I think HP's name will appear in the computer history books next to Sperry Univac, Honeywell, NCR etc. Remember the big Sperry Univac and Burroughs (aka Unisys) merger back in the 80's they were going to be the biggest thing since sliced bread. I cannot remember the last time I saw a Unisys system. Can you?

HP dumb, dumb, dumb, move.

Up until a few days ago I was really wondering if I had made the correct career decision when I moved into the teaching field a few months ago, now I feel better that I did. At least I can tell my students to never give undying loyalty to a computer company, all they want is your money not your support. Your only the person that buys their product your opinion is meaningless, just hand over the money and shut up.

One question I would like to ask HP is -- How much profit is enough? 1% 5% 10% 20% or 0%. Do you think most of us will ever by HP again.

Here is one thought BOYCOT HP!!!!!

Let's do to them what they did to the 3000.

Well enough ranting I think I'll do something else before I put my fist through the screen.

One very disenchanted X HP supporter!
