I seem to remember about 6 months back a discussion on this.  At the time I
believe it was brought out HP was out the the address business and you should
go through the NIC.
 
FWIW, Network Solutions (505 Huntmar Park Dr, Herndon, VA 22070) handles
registration services for InterNIC, which is the net's information center.  So
to get a domain name and IP registration application, e-mail them at:
