Once worked with a chap (back-in 1988/89 at Slough, England) who used PM
Debug to change session/job names when he was waiting for a compile to
finish. Can't remember which system table he was hitting but if he's on this
list then the details I've supplied should jog his memory and he may contact
you directly.

Is there a good way for a job to change its job name.  This would be used to
signal the states that a job is in.  in the specific case I wish to change
the backup job name form backup to verify to signal that the backup has
completed and we are now reading the tape to verify it is readable.
