Is there a tool to convert from XML to fix format

I've wandered all over the web, been through the archives and tried to
absorb info on XML whilst knowing nothing about it.

This means I may have missed the obvious.

I keep seeing references to conversion -TO- xml but I canot see any thing,
if it exists, that facilitates conversion -FROM- xml to fixed width
records. Either on the 3K or PC to be passed to the 3K.

A simple toolset that would enable me not spend the next n months writing
my own parser.

This may be a lot (or a very stupid thing) to ask.
