Exactly.  When I give to charity, I do so directly, not through HP3000-L.  I
contributed to this ad campaign for the purpose of publishing the "open letter
to Carly" that was discussed here a few weeks ago.  It's unlikely that any of us
will ever get to walk up to the microphone during one of Carly's press
conferences and say, "Excuse me, Ms. Fiorina, but would you kindly explain to
these ladies and gentlemen of the press why you insist on ignoring the HP3000
and its many loyal users?"  The WSJ ad can accomplish much the same thing, and
before a much greater audience.

"Criminal" is a bit over-the-top.  Everyone who contributed to the ad fund
knows exactly what it is going for; there is no deception here.

Reasonable people can disagree on whether it is a waste of money or not,
those who think it is a waste don't have to contribute.
