Actually, Patch/iX *does* check for a subsys tape being installed at the same
time as a PowerPatch tape (I've got a long email message from someone at HP
about this filed away somewhere).

I think what you said was true on some earlier version(s) of Patch/iX, which
is what resulted in my rule about doing the subsys installation first, and
then the PowerPatch installation.  But, HP claims this now works reliably,
and I don't have any recent experiences to refute that claim (of course, all
the recent installs I've done at customer sites were done as a two-step
process, so even if it is still "broken", I wouldn't have run into it).
