Tracy, concerned about media costs, asks:

I would say no. We have the same drive and have used it
successfully for 1 year and have *not* used HP media.

We have a mixture of:

Maxell
Digital (Quantum)

We are however, not using dlt4 media, but dltIIIxt media since
the 15/30gb storage of iiixt tapes is all we need. Also, the
tape is much cheaper than dlt4.
