I now have my two 2563A printers attached to DTC serial ports instead of
HP-IB
and that is working fine. I would like to remove the old printer
devices (5 & 6).
I tried setting up my new printer as class LP and wasn't surprised to
find that
SYSGEN only recognized device 6 as LP, since each entire DTC is
recognized
as a single device in Sysgen, so I couldn't delete device 6, since it
was the "only"
device assigned to class LP ... even though I can do a showdev LP and
see
both 6 and 106 (the DTC port) assigned to LP.

I'm thinking I have to add a path and pseudo device in Sysgen to assign
to
class LP and then Sysgen would let me remove the HP-IB devices and
associated paths. But how would I go about adding that pseudo device?
Does it matter what the path number is?
And is that the correct solution? Is there a more elegant one?
TIA
