Greg,

there is no need to edit a file with any editor (unless you have a very old
version of NETWARE).

Login as MANAGER.SYS and start

SCONSOLE.NETWARE

(2) CONFIGURATION
    (3) Edit System Configuration

There you find the SHARED SYSTEM PARAMTER size.
