I believe you've all missed the point.  The terrorists believe they're at
war.  When you're at war, there are only two kinds of people; you and the
enemy.  The object of war is to defeat/kill/murder/insert any term that
blows your skirt up/get rid of/rub out/exterminate/zap/grease the enemy
before they can do the same to you.  The only crime in war is losing.  Isn't
their reasoning just that simple?
