The DMPT comes from the LoaDWord instruction choking on the half-word aligned
address that is in GR26. Seems like an alignment problem with RNDFACTOR. Where does
RNDFACTOR come from?
Is it declared COMMON?
Is it the return from some other function?

What might help is to run again with ...;debug and set a breakpoint at FTN_DO_R4IO
and dump the registers. I don't know the calling sequence to this function but am
guessing we'll see the same address in GR26.

nmdebug> b FTN_DO_R4IO,,,{tr,i,d;dr;c}

<shot from hip> Try putting a dummy INTEGER*2 in front and/or behind the
declaration for RNDFACTOR to change its alignment. Or better yet, turn on the
compiler option to dump the addresses of variables and recompile and keep the
listing on disc. May help to shed some light.
