There is a whole slew of things to try...

First, I like John's idea of power cycling.

then

1) Shift, Control and Reset (Hard reset)

2) Check the modes, make sure only Remote Mode has the asterisk.

3) finally, try and abortjob, then fcopy to the device
   file t;dev=20
   fcopy from=;to=*t
   type some stuff
   cntrl y to end
