Hello Friends:

Dale Halterman commented about the HP 3000's nationwide TV exposure this week:

>Sorry Alfredo, great effort but judging from the air times (especially
>4:00AM on a Sunday morning in the SF Bay area), the HP3000 will continue
>to be "Hewlett-Packard's best-kept secret".

I beg to differ. Yes, it looks like a lot of the airings are in the
mornings -- but hey, New York City business people see it at 9:30 this
coming Sunday morning. This is pretty much prime time for public affairs
programs (a la Meet the Press, et al).

Ever wonder why programs like "This Week" and "Executive Forum" appear
early on Sundays? It's the time that TV has always allocated to public
affairs programming. Flip your remote through the channels some Sunday
morning and see.

And this is no way to keep a secret. You can hardly argue exposing 6.7
MILLION households to an HP 3000 message in New York City puts the light
under a bushel basket.

The Bay Area air time that Dale quoted is by far the earliest in the
schedule, out of dozens of cities.

Sometimes it's hard to let go of long-held beliefs. It's easier to feel
like a victim of the prior mistakes regarding HP's 3000 strategy -- and
yes, there have been many in the PAST -- than to acknowledge 3000
renaissance, a revival that apparently is now including messages to the
business public.

And hey, there's always a VCR to tape stuff in early hours :)
