I think Denys is more concerned about the all-encompassing nature of
Deja.com as a one-stop-shopping location for finding out everything
ever posted by a potential employee, etc.  An archive that's specific
to a single list is much less likely to be "misused" in this way.

It's an interesting question.  If, say, I publicly insulted Denys here
by calling him a "doofus", would it be more appropriate for him to sue
me for Libel or Slander?

Much online activity (like Usenet) feels a lot more like "speech" than
"writing".
