So, we don't know if the CM to NM conversion was correct or not.

It's easy to introduce problems when going from CM to NM, regardless of
the language involved.  I know that we volunteered to port Quad years ago,
but never received the source code.  My understanding is that someone did
port it successfully, but I don't know what version or when.
