I apologize for asking such a basic question, but how do I set the date
and time on an HP3000? i.e. what is displayed by :SHOWTIME .
 
I perused the command reference for 1/2 hour before giving up. Can someone
point me in the right direction? I'm really a Unix sysadmin that has
inherited the HP, so I'm still pretty low on the learning curve.
 
When I log on, I get the following greeting:
 
HP3000 / MPE XL  A.10.01. TUE, APR 9, 1996, 9:33 AM.
MPE XL CI A.10.30 Copyright (C) Hewlett-Packard 1987. All rights reserved.
 
(it is my hope that this will sufficiently identify the machine and OS rev)
 
I have this sneaking suspicion that I am going to have to reboot the
machine to attain a correct time from :SHOWTIME . Is that right?
 
And no, the time change is not the reason for suddenly needing to do this. :)
It's actually more correct now that we've "sprung forward", but still about
20 minutes off.
 
BTW, please email me your replies - I often get too busy to read news
and I might miss an important followup post.
