What we did:
LDEV 1: 2+2 Mirrored 2 GB
LDEV 2: 2+2+2 RAID-5 4 GB
LDEV 3: 2+2+2 RAID-5 4 GB
This would leave you two disks as hot global spare, or buy one more
and create anotherr 4 GB LDEV out of it. Having a hot global spare is
worthwhile, however...
