Contrary to hearsay, rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated :-)
I had my moments on vacation diving in Cozumel which, in hindsight, would
have convinced many commercially educated divers otherwise; but I'm still
here. I had approximately 4000 (that's no typo) messages in my mail spool
(mostly postmaster/list administrivia, I'm not that popular nor have that
much time on my hands to read it). Apparently we had a snafu with our main
outbound mailer during my absence (and my cohort's, unbeknown to me) so you
probably had some strange list behavior (his message appended below). At
the present time the queues look OK but our primary nameserver is down; this
may cause additional delays for some of you. Hope things are back to normal
tomorrow. I will be in the office, albeit late. After some customs delays
in Atlanta (hint: don't check a scuba tank through customs nor carry-on two
regulators and dive computers/guages following an Olympic bombing) I had to
catch the last shuttle out of ATL home and I still have to rinse/hang-up wet
gear before it gets, ummm, "aromatic".

Somewhat personal and administrivial note to several that asked, hurricane
Cesar a.k.a. whatever D-name it has now did *not* affect Cozumel, it was
well to the south. Concerns noted and appreciated - thanks. Seas a bit rough
on the south end of the island Monday morning at Maracaibo and El Islote (the
dive at Islote was cancelled) but the channel was calm and weather great
except for a shower late Tuesday afternoon. Visibility was a bit off above
100' but cleared further down the walls.

Sorry for bandwidth waste on non-hp3000-l material, but no time for individual
replies; please excuse this breach of netiquette.

<Joey's message earlier today...>
Yea, I just got back into town myself yesterday evening. It turns out
about 17:30 yesterday our SMTP machine started having problems. The
problems have been fixed but there is a huge backlog of mail to process
that will take some time. Actually, this piece of mail will be in the
backlog and hence will be delayed in getting to you.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
