There are two types of 9x9's,  one uses an older chipset.  The support for
those guys end much earlier.  HP offered upgrade kits for them until about
1998?  Any new 9x9 bought after 2000 should be the newer box.  Check HP's
web site and look carefully at the model type strings for the 9x9's you can
see the difference.
