After slightly more than a year, a new 32-bit version of QCTerm is now
available for downloading at:

     http://aics-research.com/qcterm

Some of you discovered that you could download this new version as early as
last Sunday night from the web page. If you've done that, please download
this version again. This copy is the official copy and has no known defects.
The one you've downloaded has a few pecadillos in it -- and there's nothing
worse than a terminal emulator with pecadillos in it.

A few points:

o QCTerm must be unzipped to the c:\ root. If you put it anywhere else,
it will not work (and in saying that, I've just answered about 35% of your
support questions :-)

o Please read the on-line manual and FAQ for QCTerm. Not only did I
spend a great deal of time writing these two documents, they also contain the
answers for about the other 65% of your support questions :-). The behavior
of this version of QCTerm is slightly different from the earlier, 16-bit
version in regard to function key behavior, thus it will benefit you to read
the manual.

The manual and FAQ can be obtained from the links provided on the web page
above or through the links provided within QCTerm itself, from its help
pulldown menu.

This version is completely compatible with the previous 16-bit version in
that you won't have to delete the 16-bit version, if you don't wish. However,
neither does it require the presence of the 16-bit version.

All known printing problems have been corrected in this version.

Finally, all fonts have been privatized in this version of QCTerm. You no
longer need to drag the fonts to the Windows/Font folder, and indeed, you
don't want to do that in this version. The fonts are no longer public fonts,
but the advantage of us doing this is that we can update the fonts at any
time, in any future release, completely transparently to your use. This
attribute will be especially important for the coming van Gogh functionality.
