List lifesaving friends,
Does anyone here use a travan tape back-up? Actually i'm really not familiar
with travan, but any compatible drive would be acceptable.. Let me explain..

I have an imation 4/8 GB travan ns-8/tr-4 cassette. Like this one..
http://store.splitsecondofficesupply.com/imn12059.html

It contains the last backup of a machine which died a few months ago.
Unfortunately the company is going to update their system and live with the
loss of the data on the tape. However I had stuff on that computer that I
would like back. My company said I could have the tape to do what I want
with it. But I have no working drive to read this data I'm a little
perplexed.....

I was wondering if I could strike a deal with someone on the list with a
working drive to read these kinds of tapes. Something like I mail you the
tape, a return envelope, and a few blank CDrs, or a DVDr, and some money. In
return you copy the tape contents on to some other medium that I can read
from.

Or if anyone has any other ideas i'm all ears :)

Thanks for any advice,
Gehan Gehale
