Outmoded Root File?

I finally found the Query manual on docs.hp and it
says:

The data base root file was created using a different
version of the IMAGE software.  Current QUERY software
is not compatible with this file.

Now, seeing as how these two systems are identical
(Same O/S and same Image versions - as verified via
the version command in Query), I presume something in
the root file is whacked.

I hate it when that happens... :-(
