The 2893 was not retro fitted for hpib. It was only supported on the
older upright systems. IE, the series III, II, etc. There was alos an
HP7660 (or something 76xx) card reader that was serial and interfaced
thru an rs232 port. These were not supported on DTCs so mpe/ix is out.
