We use UDALINK from M.B. Foster.

It works great with a variety of products on NT, such as ColdFusion, and
will interface with Microsoft Office Products.

UDALINK can also be administered to access flat files and KSAM files, though
we do not use that capability here.

That isn't what was asked.  He wanted to go from an HP3000 program (say
written in COBOL) and retrieve data on another platform.  In otherwords, the
3000 is a client, not a server.  I believe that UDALINK uses the 3000 as a
server, not a client.
