I, too, think that that is an excellent idea -- most especially if some of
these products are going to go off support, as announced. It's much better
that they become "freeware" than simply be discarded. They are extremely
stable products nowadays (indeed, most haven't been modified in years) and
with the rise of the web, all necessary documentation could be put on-line so
that its distribution would be at essentially zero cost to HP.
I'm also sure that if HP itself didn't want to go to the trouble of
converting the documentation to HTML format, volunteers in this group would
be pleased to provide the manpower to do it. I know that we'd be pleased to
do our share.
