Hello,

I don't know what version of the OS you are using, but you if you are on
Base 7.0, may need to install patch CONGD15. There were some problems with
modem operations on the console driver on Release 7.0.

Try using the port in the GSP mode. If you can connect using that mode that
would confirm a driver problem. Configure the port in the GSP for BELL
protocol, 9600 Baud.

I can't guarentee that your modem will work on the N4000 because the GSP
sends configuration info to the modem that your modem may not recognize.
