Ah the memories, I had this printed up on company letter head and got
the President of the company to sign it. We then posted it on the rest
room doors at the corporate office the last day of March (the next day
was April 1). The company was going through some downsizing and the
president hoped this would bright everyone's day.
Well, it back fired, everyone thought it was for real. We had to make a
quick announcement that it was April Fools Day.

Enjoy,

NOTICE TO ALL EMPLOYEES !

Restroom Trip Policy No. 0401-1994

In the past, employees were permitted to make trips to the restroom
under informal guidelines.
Effective April 1,1994 the following RESTROOM TRIP POLICY (RTP) will be
established to provide a consistent method for all employees.

Under this policy, a “restroom trip bank” will be established for each
employee.
The first day of each month, employees will be given restroom trip
credits totaling (20) visits.
Restroom trip credits can be accumulated from month-to-month.

Currently, the entrance to the restrooms are being equipped with a
personal identification station and computer-linked voice print
recognition.
During the next week, each employee must provide two copies of voice
prints (one normal; one under stress) to the building utilities task
team (BUTT).
The voice print recognition station will be operational, but not
restrictive, for the month of March.
Employees should acquaint themselves with the station during that
period.

If an employee’s restroom trip bank balance reaches zero (0), the door
will not unlock for the employee’s voice until the first of the next
month.
In addition, the restroom stalls are being equipped with a timed paper
roll retractor. If the stall is occupied for more than three (3)
minutes, an alarm will sound.
Thirty (30) seconds after the alarm sounds, the roll of paper in the
stall will retract, the toilet will flush, and the stall door will open.

If you have any questions about the new RTP Policy, please consult with
your immediate supervisor.
