Hello Folks @ 3000-l,

Re: Secure Web Console

---------------------------------------------------Carl McNamee writes--
I don't know if this is the root cause or not but anytime our network
was over whelmed with packets ours hung also. After the boxes were put
on a network segment that didn't get all that traffic they have not
acted up again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for this feedback Carl. I have run 3 Secure Web Console on my
systems - 2 as the primary console and 1 as a parallel console for
several years now (prior to their actual support on the HP e3000) and I
have not experienced system hangs and have been very successful until
the recent CODE-RED attacks. At this point I could not get the Secure
Web Console to connect, so it does appear that the "Secure Web Console"
operation is somewhat dependant on a healthy network connection. At
this same time I could not get host based Telnet to stay connected to my
HP e-3k systems - telnet terminated on multiple retransmissions of the
single character echo.

P.S. I have never updated my "Secure Web Console's" from the original
firmware download included as shipped prior to HP e-3k support of these
devices.

I hope this helps.
