The jars, of course, were disconsolate too, at never achieving their 
intended purpose. Their disappointment was all the greater, too, at the 
reason for their demise; on hearing the cries of 'Iceberg! Iceberg!" 
they naturally assumed they would soon be spread all over some 
lettuce... :-)
