Nobody has turned off the console or etc. on our 957
since we went to 5.0, so we haven't confirmed this
might still be a problem. But I'm thinking Evan is
correct, and results can still be less than optimum.

Can anyone from HP tell us just how this really works
now (or at least is theoretically supposed to work) ??

BTW, note that besides powering off the console and
typing a CTRL-S, a couple other sneaky ways to get the
system to slow down and die was for someone to walk
by and hit the STOP key or the REMOTE MODE softkey
on the console. These are harder to notice than no power
but have (or at least used to have) the same effect. We
had a couple instances pre-5.0 where the console
message buffer backup got bad enough that you
couldn't even do CTRL-A on the console; had to do
a CTRL-B followed by a RS..................
