The dinner was great. Lasagna! Garfield would
have been proud.

Listened for a an hour "The Basic Ingredients of MPE
Performance" given by Craig Solomon of Lund Performance
Solutions in Room 125. This should be a mandatory for
every HP3000 System Manager every other year. Mainly
because you're reminded of so many performance
tasks that may have fell by the wayside over the years.

Vladimir was spotted in and around the Adager area.
He said he was passing through on his way to do
some consulting in Santa Clara.

I schmoozed Vendors for most of the afternoon. Joe
Geiser has a great little app that fits in with many
of the tenets that HP is espousing for "E"-Services.
It was written in "Coldfusion" and he has it set up
as a user interface to HP3000 Image data on his demo
box using a browser. I was waiting to see him myself
and two HP guys monopolized his time for about
an hour and a half. Whatever questions they were
asking sure sounded important. I think they made his
day.

I managed to take a pair of Vendors out for Ice
Cream at Fenton's Creamery in Oakland. It's a 1950's
style soda shop that makes it's own ice cream. It
specializes in huge banana splits, tall sundaes, and
various other sundry ice cream treats.
