Some things I noticed offhand.

Does your modem know (or care) what baud rate your DTC port is using?

Is it a modem port?

If not, you may have to cheat the modem by wiring a cable that makes the
modem "think" it is a modem port with DTC high.

Try creating a program that uses the FCONTROL intrinsic to send the string
to the port.

Or set up the port as a printer, instead an spool the string out.

If you're in the mood for play, hook up a dumb terminal to the port and see
what character strings come out when you invoke your character string. Set
"display functions" on.

Subject: USING HP3000 TO DIAL MODEM
Date: Saturday, September 07, 1996 9:13AM

Can anyone help with making my HP3000 dial out a phone number to my pager.
The modem is connected to a port on a DTC72. I would like to send at
commands
to dial my pager.

I have tried a file equasion with an echo atdt(phone number) >>*backward
reference but I get a FSERR 68

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
