I have found that if you have more than one HP3000 connected to the same
DTC on the same network, the DTC config download may come from an HP3000
*other* than the one it is configured correctly for.

Three solutions I can think of:

1) Deconfigure that DTC from HP3000's that are not using it.

2) Pull the network cable from the errant HP3000 then reset the DTC.
Then it will download the config from the correct HP3000. Put the
network cable back when done. (This assumes the errant HP3000 is a
dormant test machine with nobody online.)

3) Configure the DTC exactly the same way on all HP3000's connected to
the DTC.

Subject: [HP3000-L] DTC resets

I'm submitting this for a friend that's been battling a DTC issue for
months now.

The DTC has been replaced and even put on a separate nic, but the
problem persists.

His customer has a time clock application which employees use to clock
in/out. At least several times a week, the DTC does a reset and begins
a download which disables the application.

From a hardware standpoint, it sounds like everything has been swapped
out/moved around with no change.

I'm wondering if the application could be causing the reset via an
fcontrol or fdevicecontrol due to some uninitialized data area?

Guess I could dig into termdsm to see what the reset DTC does, but
thought perhaps someone here might offer some insight as to how to nail
this down.

TIA,
Jack Connor
