Hi Direktie,
    I just checked my manual for a LaserJet II... that is one of those that
means "pay someone to look at me!" hehehe

   If you don't have a service contract on that puppy.... How many pages has the
printer printed since the last rebuild???

   Note: the rebuild replaces the Fuser Unit as Damon recommended :)

 This sounds like you need to replace the fuser.
