I had the same problem with my home PC last week. I found the BIOS in
my older PC wouldn't recognize disks larger than 137GB, or some number
around there. My motherboard manufacturer's most recent BIOS update for
the motherboard was in 2002 and it doesn't support the larger drives.
So, as your system is booting up, press the DEL or F2 key and get into
your BIOS and look to see what your motherboard is telling you about the
size of your disk. My new 320GB drive was recognized as an 8GB drive
and it continued to fail during bootup.

Subject: [HP3000-L] OT: MS Win2K Server maximum volume size?

I am installing a new piece of hardware to take over as the primary
domain controller for my family's home domain from our ancient P-III
system. The new machine has a 750 GB drive and the Windows installer
only sees the first 131 GBs. Is there any way to get Win2K-Server to
recognize the entirety of the volume, preferably as a single logical C:
drive?

Regards,
