BTW, if you wish to watch NBC's report on Cedar Rapids recovery efforts
from
last evening, it's available at:

Wirt,

So you're a fan of Brian Williams, well lets take a peak at your impartial media

1120 results for '"Cedar Rapids" flood'

14800 results for '"New Orleans" Katrina'

Now granted New Orleans happened several years ago, but one on the first hits for Katrina was posted 3 hours ago.

Was there ever a final total for the cost of Katrina... I remember 60 Billion or $27,000 dollars for every man woman and child in the state of Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas.  Seeing as New Orleans was below the flood plain, I would assume that banks would require insurance on any mortgages/loans.

Of course Cedar Rapids was a 500 year flood, 12 feet past the last record flood.   Areas clearly outside the flood plain were swamped, probably with no flood insurance.

I heard talk of a 5 Billion dollar plan which included moneys to refund FEMA from it's losses in New Orleans.

Hey, do you think they could pull up one of the Carnival Cruise Ships up the Mississippi, to help the natives...
