Know I have SAMBA connectivity, movin on to security:

Here’s my plan I am going to replace the functionality provided by our UNIX
file server with the mission critical always running HP3000. The UNIX will
not be used as a file server for mission critical corporate data anymore. So
I need to map the pre-existing security from the UNIX to the MPE/POSIX
system. I can use all the help I can get...

Has anyone on the list ever UPGRADED from UNIX to MPE/POSIX ?

Does anyone know of a way to associate 1 user to many group id’s?

MPE has files within groups within accounts. “file.group.account”. In the HFS
“POSIX” world the file owner is mapped to the “user.acct” and the file group
id is mapped to the “acct”. Does anyone know of a utility that allows “UID”
and “GID” maintenance so I can associate one UID to multiple GID’s? Similar
to NIS in the UNIX world.
