     I bet those platters would make great wind chimes too!!!  I make 'em
out of 3 1/2 and 5 1/4 inch platters when I can get enough for one :)
takes about 5 platters for a good one :)

    But the tone is incredible!

Yes, back when they were DISCs and not DISKs.  IBM and DEC made DISKs - HP
made DISCs :)  HP also made "Flexible Discs" - everyone else had "Floppy
Disks".  Even HP's 3.5" floppies, were originally Flexible Discs :)

The 79xx removable discs also made incredible frisbees after you took one
apart, after it's useful life had expired (like when one spilled a Coke on
a
removable volume).
