It was worth a try, but preceding it with a colon simply changes the error 
message:

Executing PURGE TEMPJOB;NOCONFIRM;NOSHOW
Processing NOCONFIRM
This is not a valid keyword for this command. (CIERR 10007)
Supplied parameters do not match formal parameters. (CIERR 2039)
