Earlier in the e-mail you talk about km/litre so I guess you converted from
that right?

Just checking that you're not looking at UK figures which would be in mpg.
Watch out for people saying they get 50mpg in the UK as the gallon is a bit
bigger.  That'd be 41mpg in the US.  I presume that'd be the case unless I'm
missing something? I know the UK gallon is 4.545 litres and the US one is
3.785.

Someone was saying how they only got 25mpg as they needed a 4wd car on the
dirt road.  There's a small 4wd car available in europe that might do the
trick (don't know if it's available in the US) -

That's got a 1.2 litre engine. It's a really strange 4wd - I don't think
you'd find smaller.  It get's around 42 mpg so presumably around 35mpg in
the US.

That's only slightly less economical.

Is there nothing like those in the US?  I'm curious.  I know cars are bigger
in the US but that Toyota looks reasonably big and is relativley economical.
  There may be others as I just did a google - I'm no expert at this!
