We have a power trust, I think 1.6 kvm connected to our 937 on 6.0 OS. When it senses power loss it sends a message to the console and goes to battery. If it senses power restored then it will send another message to the console that power is restored.

Not much assistance on 6.0 but at least it keeps the machine running. The other part is that while power is out the power trust beeps so, if we're here we can to an orderly shutdown instead of an abort.
