Jacksonville University, a private, independent, comprehensive
institution located in northeast Florida, is seeking applications for the
new position of Director of Information Technology. The Director will
report to the Vice President for Operations and will be responsible for
the planning, development, and implementation of the coordinated
technology activities of the University, both academic and
administrative. Specific duties will include supervision of all computer
services staff, working with the Curriculum Committee to insure that
technology initiatives support the academic goals of the University, and
working with the President and Vice Presidents to provide a comprehensive
and coordinated information technology program.
Candidates must possess a Master's degree and have at least five years of
leadership experience in the management of information technologies,
preferably in higher education. Experience with both microcomputer
technologies and networking systems required; HP 3000 experience
desirable. This position also requires strong team building and
communications skills, an understanding of both current and emerging
technologies, and the ability to apply this knowledge to support
instruction and administration.
